If you like ghost stories and mysteries, you will enjoy this thriller from Ruth Ware. There were a couple of times that I was wishing I was not home alone while reading it. It was much better than any of her other ones and actually very creepy. I was pleasantly surprised at this story. I am not the biggest fan of Ruth Ware’s books and yet, for some reason, I keep reading them. The ending wasnt as expected, but this was well read Loved it. Every family has secrets, and Rowan has plenty of her own, but did it really cause her to kill a child? Very good book Kept you interested the entire time. Rowan was warned that the house was haunted and that the last three nannies left quickly under mysterious circumstances. The “smart” home they live in seems to have a mind of its own, and clearly the girls are not fond of their new nanny. Rowan’s story begins with explaining all the strange occurrences that happened almost immediately after she started, when the parents left her alone in the Scottish Highlands with three children she didn’t know. She writes to a solicitor explaining what really happened, in the hopes that she will not be punished for something she didn’t do. It turns out it is, and it ends with a child dead and Rowan incarcerated for her murder. Ukraine’s grain exports have fallen sharply weeks before a key Black Sea shipping. In The Turn of the Key, Rowan is hired for a nanny position that seems too good to be true.
